The [lack of] poker content here since my return to Blighty is easily explained by the lack of poker I’ve played.  After a gruelling WSOP, I’ve been largely chilling around Shattrath since my return.  The epics grinding coupled with there being a lot to do around the house after 6 weeks away means little time for poker.  Sure, I could  have made more time for it  but I just  havent wanted to.  I no longer play when  I don’t want to (cash games anyway – certain special tournaments are an exception).   And I can’t see myself wanting to play huge volumes anytime in the future.  Analysis of the last few years shows that huge volume leads to play degradation and a rapid falling off my results.   Fewer quality hours >>>  volume for the sake of volume.  My best poker is played when I’m keen and focused and my A-game is spectacular.  So is my C-game actually – just in a slightly different way ;-)

While this gives me free time, it doesn’t give me as much as it seems because I need to keep my mind in condition to play and this means outside-poker competition.  Lots of it.   Hot and heavy.  Which is the reason Wow the arena e-sport is having such a positive effect on my poker play.  I used to have lawn bowling, arena has taken its place.

Have to stop typing as the stars $800 EPT sat is starting.  (see i do play occasionally)
